What do we do to stop the rising numbers of suicide. We need to “counteract” the root of the problem. A big issue for the countless people in the limelight is all of the negative banter that surrounds them. As they rise to the top feeling empowered, motivated and energized by a community of “fans’ cheering them on - it can all be stripped away by the constant judgement and negativity the flows through the internet and social media. Our society must remember that they are “real people” with their own personal struggles. Words can tear someone down instantly leaving them feeling vulnerable, losing their footing!
We all have a story and what may not be known publicly does not mean people are not struggling. We need more kindness and less judgement. Continue to help build people up and let them know their lives are “valued”. Let me REPEAT THAT - Their lives are VALUED.
