STRANGER DANGER - The story of Athena Strand - Education To Keep Our Children Safe

The story of Athena Strand’s Kidnapping and murder - November 30, 2022. This is tragic and deeply disturbing. As this story unfolded the kidnapper a Fed Ex driver returned to the scene of the crime and innocently asked, “What was going on” - “Why was the road blocked off”. HE went back to work the next day after murdering this beautiful child right in his own truck.

Former FedEx driver Tanner Horner, who was delivering packages in Strand's neighborhood at the time of her disappearance, was charged with capital murder and kidnapping.

As the scene unfolded he lured Athena to the back of his truck (it is all caught on video), and places her in shutting the door. There is actual video and sound inside the truck as the camera rolled. She was seen and heard asking him if he was a kidnapper and where he was taking her. He replied with you are very pretty and then instructing her to take off her shirt…. I will stop there - as it is disgusting and devastating what transpired in that truck. NOTE: Even though the camera was covered up at one point the audio captured to brutal and vicious attack.

As devastating as this story is, we must share it because “Stranger Danger” is real and predators are everywhere seeking out their next victim. We need to do a better job at educating our children as this is the best way to keep them safe. Never TRUST a stranger no matter how kind or nice they seem. Be very cautious and distance yourself a quickly as you can. SCREAM if you must! These are the things we need to be teaching in our homes, schools - everywhere. The abusers will NEVER go away, so we need to push back any way that we can, and education is a top priority.

I pray for this family who has been destroyed by the loss of their beautiful angel. Justice for Athena.
