Mental Health Struggles - What Makes A Parent Decide to Commit Murder & Suicide

Every day we wake up, look at the news and see another devastating story about a child being murdered by their own parents, and also murder-suicide. It is so devastating to see story after story fill up the newsfeed. How can this be? Why are so many people resorting to such violence and cruelty, especially to their own family.

There are many answers to these questions as there are countless scenarios that could be set in place, but the one common denominator to “MOST” of these situations are deteriorating mental stability. Mental Health!!!! When everything in life starts to fall apart all around someone, and what was once a clear view is now clouded and distorted. The mindset falters, spiraling out of control as the paranoia sets in. Those little whispers of the psychotic kind replace rational thought. Over time all baseline thinking is gone, and it is replaced with delusional ideations that seems to be the answer to the unthinkable question. This is the scenario that plays out over and over again, and the only way to stop it, is if we break the silence. Do not be afraid to ask the questions because you will be saving a life or several lives.

I have listed a few articles below, each one tragic as they all came to a fatal end except for one, and that case I will address separately. The New Hampshire Mother of three who was struggling with her mental health due to her husbands brain tumor was documented on Tik Tok. She has a feed where she posted constantly. In her last post she talked about her deep dark thoughts, and wanted to get past them. Then there was nothing…. next thing you hear on the news is that she shot two of her kids, her husband then then herself murder-suicide. She left her young toddler untouched, who was found wondering the house among his dead family members. WHY!!!!!

Travis Decker the father who brutally murdered his three young daughters, is still at large. He struggled profusely with his mental health and it was even noted in court, but he still had his visitation rights (unsupervised)

Three small children ages 1, 2 & 3 were wondering the streets in Houston TX going to neighbors houses asking for food and water because they were starving. The children led the police to their home where the parents were both found dead murder-suicide. This was a case of mental health struggles and domestic violence. Red Flags everywhere on this case, but nobody stepped forward.

Litte Emmanuel Haro, who they are actively searching for, as his parents were arrested for his murder. He is one of 6 children (he was the youngest), and this was a false story of kidnapping. There is not too much information on this case, but the same scenerios continue to play out over and over again.

There is one story here that is a bit different, but I added it in, because this case screams of MENTAL ILLNESS and ABUSE. A 11 year old girl forced to give birth at home as her mother and stepfather did not get her the help that she needed. Claiming they didnt know she was pregnant, but hadnt sent her to school or see a doctor in over a year. RED FLAGS- Why did nobody question where this child was. She had sibiling living in the home. The mental anguish and trauma this young girl had to endure. Nobody at 11 years old should be pregnant or give birth. They are waiting on a paternity test to see who the father is. This will be interesting!

Why am I sharing all of these awful stories? I am sharing for purpose, awareness and education. These things are all happening right in our own backyards, neighborhoods and communities. People are NOT stepping up when they need to. Everyone waits until it is too late, then they come forward. I am here to say DONT WAIT - Ask the questions, get involved and help if you can. These stories did not have to happen, if help and support were a part of the solution. Family members, friends, collegues and neighbors all see what is happening, but the silence remains. This needs to changes.

WE MUST BREAK THE SILENCE - SAVE THE CHILDREN - HELP THOSE WHO ARE MENTALLY STRUGGLING - DO SOMETHING - ANYTHING

The worst thing any of us could do is absolutely nothing.
