Mental Health Stigma - The Clouded View
Below is the link to this broadcast which aired September 13, 2025. It is eye opening.
Fox host sets off uproar with 'just kill them' comment about mentally ill homeless people
This is some of the comments made live on TV! This is the view of how they are speaking about mentally ill people, and how our country should take care of the crisis. This is certainly a clouded view in our society! I was personally shocked and appalled by these crass and insensitive comments. This further shows how people have become so desensitized and lack empathy or understanding. The STIGMA is still a huge barrier when it comes to understanding someone with mental illness. This is why so many people are still afraid to speak up about their struggles because of backhanded and brazen comments like these below. What is even more disgusting is that they are not the first to make comments like these. We have seen top leaders and officials stating the same type of banter, which also included putting people with mental illness on farms or camps locked away from the world! How are we supposed to break the stigma with this type of thought process?
Here are the comments below, any thoughts?
An offhand comment made by Fox News personality Brian Kilmeade about using “involuntary lethal injection” on mentally ill homeless people set off a wave of outrage on Saturday morning.
After later adding, “They have given billions of dollars to mental health and the homeless population. A lot of them don't want to take the programs, a lot of them don't want to get the help that is necessary. You can't give them a choice. Either you take the resources that we're going to give you and — or you decide that you are going to be locked up in jail. That's the way it has to be now,” Kilmeade interjected, “Or involuntary lethal injection.”
With Jones agreeing, Kilmeade added, “Or something. Just kill them.
We need to do better and become a more educated nation. The reality is countless people struggle with their mental health, and if we do not help and support them, we will have more incidents of instability and violence. There are so many stories out there that ended tragically, but they didnt have too. The outcome could have been different if there was help and support set in place.
If you see someone struggling do not chose to look the other way. Step up, ask the questions and offer a helping hand.
We can make a difference. Every day I pray for change, and I speak up about these strong topics to bring awareness and education.
If we all do our part, many scenarios will have a different outcome.
WE can make change happen.
Embrace the Journey,
