Waiting to be Saved - Child Abuse Awareness - The Reality
Child Abuse Awareness Month π
The Dream...
As a young child going through trauma, loss and abuse, I always had these 'daydreams' of someone coming to save me. I would sit high up in my castle waiting... In real lifetimes, I did wait, and I waited more. Sadly, NOBODY came to my rescue, which left me feeling alone, abandoned and confused.
My inner thoughts - "I am not worth saving" Lisa Zarcone (12 years old)
I came to the realization that I had to save myself, and that is what I did. I stood up and I fought. I fought really hard and by the grace of GOD I made it. The sad truth is that many children do NOT make it out alive!
We must Advocate for them 365 days a year.
Who will you save along the way in your busy life?
Are they worth it?
THE ANSWER IS YES
As you make your way through your days, always be aware of your surroundings. Your families, neighborhoods and communities. There are countless children in need, please be their voice. Do not be afraid to ask the important questions, you may be saving a life. Our system does not do enough to help our youth, and we must fight for their rights to ensure their safety and well-being.
