Do You Hear Me Now??   Are You Being Heard?

There are so many people talking, but is anyone really listening.

This is such an important topic to discuss, because our world has turned into such a loud place of existence.   With every twist and turn there is noise, static and bantering.    Far too many people are forcing the issue of being “politically correct”, and because of this, many voices are getting drowned out by the screaming!

So, what do we do?   How do we change the narrative?

Do we scream louder, longer and faster?

The answer here is NO, so what do we actually do?

I am giving you so many questions, but what are the realistic answers to these daunting scenarios?

I do believe we must start by taking a step back and really think about what we want to say, and the messages that we truly need to get across, in a calm but powerful way.

I love the word “powerful” because to me it stands for strong, not pushy, not arrogant, just strong!

When you are trying to get your point across to others, make your statements firm and to the point.   If you become wishy-washy or uptight, you will loose your audience fairly quickly.  People like authentic and real.     When we put ourselves out there in such a way, it makes people stop (pause) and look up.

This is what catches the attention of others, and if you can maintain that strong presence throughout your mission at hand, you will keep people invested every step of the way.

When people start bantering and taking the subject to a level that it doesn’t need to go, people stop listening and the magical point you  have worked so hard to get across is lost in the abyss of static electricity, sparking a debate towards the negative side.

That is when everyone starts talking, but Nobody is listening.  Your powerful point is lost, dead in the water at that point, and it will be back to square one as you are seeking higher grounds.

I believe as a society we want to be seen, heard and acknowledged.    YES!

When we are acknowledged it gives us a sense of belonging, and comradery, knowing that we are not alone.

Please hear me, see me!!

If you think about it, from birth on up until this very moment in your life what have you been seeking? In each and every stage of life we want to be noticed, acknowledge and heard.

A baby will cry for attention, and a young child will scream until you give them the attention that they need.   Their needs at this time in life are usually basic and simple, but as we grow into adults our needs become more complex.    If we really know ourselves well enough, we will naturally gear ourselves in the right direction to full-fill our inner wants and needs.

There are many adults out there that have not learned how to “self-sooth” or offer “self-care” when they so desperately need it.   In those moments of stress, they may present with high anxiety, loss of focus and uptight energy.

What is really going on here?

They just want to be heard and acknowledged.  That basic need that we all crave throughout our life time.  They want a full-filling experience.

It makes perfect sense.   It is simple but complex at the same time.     I believe if more people  could tap into their “inner selves” and do the work, they will feel more acknowledged, strong and heard.

As we all know self-work it hard, daunting at times, and emotionally exhausting.   The bottom line here is, that the work is truly necessary to grow, evolve and move forward to the next stages of your life.

So today I leave you with this:

Take time to learn about YOU.   Do the work that is necessary to grow, change and learn.  Remind yourself that your voice is important and you deserve to be heard, but the catch is, you want to be heard appropriately, realistically and with the strength of conviction that is undeniable.

Get out there do the work, walk the walk and talk the talk!

When you have a strong voice, people will stop, look and listen.

Food for thought.
