The Epidemic - A Mixed Bag of Emotions - How will our children survive?

We are knee deep into all of this madness and for many people they are buckling under the pressure. The isolation is very difficult, and it is definitely creating an increasingly amount of negativity and darkness.

People who already struggle with mental health issues have reached new plateau’s as we move forward day by day. It is hard to hold onto positive thoughts when we are riding on every word posted all over social media and the news.

NOW… imagine the children!

There are countless children out there living in unstable environments filled with dysfunction and abuse. The only positive outlet they had was going off to school. A place of safety, learning, structure and nurturing. This safety net has been pulled out from under their feet and they have no where to turn.

Looking at those walls inside of their homes everyday with the wrath of abuse all around them. How will they survive this epidemic (mentally), and how damaged with they be when it is all over?

When we return to life as we know it, how will they be able to function?

These are very serious questions and extremely important ones to ask.

We need to be vigilant in our efforts to help our youth.

Take a look around your neighborhoods and communities. If you see someone struggling, please lend that helping hand.

If something does not seem right in a situation, do not be afraid to ask the questions. You may be saving a life!!

I always say this: SEE SOMETHING —- SAY SOMETHING

A child’s life may depend on it! The window of opportunity may be slim.

Child abuse, domestic violence and suicide are all on the rise. Children have already died at the hands of their parent/guardian, because of this instability in our world right now.

We must step up!

Be a voice for the voiceless, offer kindness as much as possible and be brave when it comes to stepping into a difficult situation to help a child in need.

We are all in this together! Lets walk together!

I wrote this poem “The Epidemic” and it connects to the thoughts and feelings of

people all over the world as we face the reality of LIFE…

The Epidemic

The plight of the world weighing heavy on my soul...

Tainted by this dark force surrounding me, suffocating all that is good...

The stench of evil is in the air whiffing by my nose…

The battle raging on with such fury that I cannot see the light of day

How to overcome such darkness with its claws dug in so deep

I drop to the floor bow my head and weep…

Living in dark times of strife surrounded by the media gripping us

So tight as we are living on every word hoping to hear the cure…

Isolation

Frustration

Loss of Determination

This is where the epidemic has brought me, once again on my

Knees, buckling under the pressure of time with no rhythm or rhyme

What will get me to the light of day, a place where I want to stay

Seeking Searching

Holding on tight to my inner faith, letting the heaviness take flight

Glimpses of a brighter day, dancing in my head which was once filled With rage…

As I continue to pray, the weight is lifted a brand-new day!

Embrace the Journey,

God Bless,
